Have you considered how you are being equipped during this season of transition? What tools and strategies are you using to navigate each day? One of my favorite tools is journaling.
Recently, I have started what I like to call my experience journal. In this journal, I write the tips, tools, and strategies that working well for me during this season of change. I also reflect upon areas that I would like to improve. I write my meditations, prayers, what brings me joy, and I keep a gratitude list.
Journaling is an excellent way to become more aware of what you are thinking and feeling. When this season passes, we will all have a story to share. I encourage you to document and celebrate your journey. You are a light and resource for so many in your community.
Tips:
- Set aside 10-15 each day to journal your thoughts
- Find a quiet place (Try to keep the time consistent)
- Write Freely and enjoy the time with yourself.
- Use bullet points, photos, or draw your thoughts.
- There is no right or wrong way to journal.

I just looked back at some old journals I have. It amazes me that I captured those times and events in a way that I can still feel what I was going through. Some events long forgotten about. Most of the things asked for came to me. Many goals I set were accomplished. I haven’t been consistent though. I’ll journal a few months and stop. Start up again with so much that’s happened, and stop again. There are years of nothing posted, and years of over posting. I tend to get frustrated trying to get all the feelings and emotions down before they leave me. But I love filling my journal with cutouts, colors and drawings. I often wonder if my grand children or great grand children will one day read them and what they’ll think.
Journaling is really a blessing. It changes for me from day to day. I always try to write something each day, even if it is a note of encouragement to myself or an affirmation.
